Holistic Healing DirectoryMeditation Techniques
One popular way to meditate:

Start of by putting yourself in a situation where you are not disturbed in a quiet room where no loud noises can cause you to jump out of your state of mind, wear some loose soft clothing and lay down and relax. When you feel relaxed start to think of your breathing and count your breaths, 1 for in, and 2 for out, keep this going for several minutes just concentrating on your breathing, feel the air fill your lungs and feel the air been expelled as you breath out.

Practise this every day if you can and you will notice that you can monitor and count your breathing for longer periods with the practise before stray thoughts leak in. Try and keep your breathing regular and deep, if it begins to get to shallow you may be on the way to sleep which is not what you are trying to do. You can also do this with some gentle relaxing music playing in the background.

This simple action will encourage your mind to dip into Theta brain wave frequencies which has been proven to be associated with deep meditation and relaxation.

So what will meditation do for you you may ask, well the easiest description would be to say that it brings calm to your mind, this will allow you to make better decisions, to have the time and calmness to think through your options. This over time will translate in to better judgement which will contribute to helping you become wealthier in health and spirit.
